John Busch has lived in Tahlequah since 1989. He served as the director of Camp Lutherhoma for 36 years before retiring in 2025. While at Camp Lutherhoma John developed several adventure-based programs to be enjoyed and experienced by summer campers and year-round retreat guests. John always had a love of biking, having grown up in Southern California and experienced the earliest days of tinkering with knobby tires and motorcycle handlebars on stingray bikes. His love for this sport transferred into developing the mountain bike program at Camp Lutherhoma. He has led outings for campers of all ages for years, mostly heading over to Arkansas. Recently, the destination has become Welling Ridge, only ten minutes from Camp Lutherhoma, allowing for more riding than driving.
